Beautiful Ballerinas
Maggie's friend, Lauren, came over Friday afternoon to play, and the two of them put on a ballet show.
They made tickets for Mommy, then met her at the top of the stairs to collect them. They "practiced" with music for quite awhile before asking Mommy to come up, and then put on a beautiful show.
Maggie came out first to announce what was going to happen (you can tell she was just at the circus). Then, they went backstage (the playroom) to make sure they were ready. The two girls then came out holding American flags, and Mommy had to sing the National Anthem while they marched around with the flags.
Finally, it was time for the show. Maggie danced alone to the first song. Lauren was being a little shy. But, by the second song, Lauren was ready to join Maggie on the dance floor. They did some wonderfully artistic things. By the final song, it was "gymnastics time," which consisted of lots of leaping and jumping!
Mommy gave a huge round of applause when the show was over. They then adjourned downstairs for snacktime.

Pizza Anyone?!
Friday morning Maggie and her neighborhood playgroup friends descended on Stevie B's pizza for an outing. The staff there was great!!!
They took the kids behind the counter where they all got to touch the pizza dough and then see how it went through the spreader and got ready for toppings. Then they put sauce, cheese and pepperoni on it! After it went into the oven (not the ones they actually made - think those went in the trash) and baked, they got to see how it was cut and put out for consumption.
Then they got to eat!!!! The mommies got to eat too, and everyone had a fabulous early lunch.
It was a great outing - especially since it had been raining for 48 hours and everyone needed an activity. Many thanks to Mommy Gomez for organizing!

American Girl Bistro
Thursday, Maggie and Mommy took Kit (Maggie's American Girl Doll) to lunch at the American Girl Bistro at North Point Mall.
Kit got her own seat and her own menu at the Bistro. Maggie just thought that was the coolest thing! We had an awesome time! They really cater to the girls, which is nice.
We then went and got Kit's hair styled at the American Girl hair salon (no, I'm not kidding - you can actually pay money and have them braid it and such). Luckily, she just needed a little water and a good brushing.
Maggie walked the entire store several times looking for just the right thing to purchase with her "spend" money. However, she didn't find that special thing and decided to saver her money for something in the future. Mommy was pretty impressed with that decision.
All in all an enjoyable afternoon!

Playtime with Kierra
"Your girls are so cute!"
We heard this many times this week as we got to take care of Kierra for several days while Cherokee County was out of school. Everywhere we went, people thought I had two adorable little girls. What's even funnier is how many times Mommy called Kierra "Maggie"!! (It doesn't help that Kierra gets all of Maggie's old clothes!)
Thursday, Mags and Kierra had big fun racing around the house and wrestling so Mommy had to pull out the camera!

The Circus
Gramps took the Hotlanta cousins (and some parents) to the circus on Monday (Grandma stayed home with baby Ayden), and they had a wonderful time.
First, they were just glad to be together. You have never seen kids so excited as these guys when they get to be with their cousins. Maggie, Ella, and Landry were all hugging each other like crazy when we met at the CNN center. Even Baby Will gave out some smiles.
Then, there was the whole circus thing! The lights, the sounds, the smells. The kids were all in awe!!!
Even Maggie, who has now been to Philips Arena several times for various events and considers herself a veteran, was amazed by all that was going on. Because they were so focused on absorbing all they could see, it was hard to get a picture of a smile - but there were plenty of them!!
The whole clan had a great time. There were elephants, tigers, and people flying through the air! It was awesome!

Playing at the Park
Saturday was an absolutely beautiful day here in Hotlanta. It was one of those days you're glad you live in the south. Maggie and Mommy went up to the playground at the local church, and Maggie had a great time climbing around on the equipment. Maggie's friend, Kacey, was there with her mommy and brother so the two girls had a wonderful time running around together.
What's amazing to watch is Maggie's growing confidence with her own physical ability. They have a web structure for the kids to climb, and Maggie got higher than she ever has this past Saturday before she felt the need to come down. Mommy was very proud of her.
It was a great day, and we stayed at the park for over two hours. Needless to say, it was a bath and early to bed for the Mags!

Grandma's Birthday
The family celebrated Grandma's birthday on Saturday, February 9th. All the in-town grandkids were there to eat pizza and cake as well as sing to Grandma.
As always it was tons of family fun. There are so many kids now that the good pictures are hard to get as they all move at the speed of light! They always have so much fun when they are together though!

Maggie - Ski Bunny?
David is getting ready to go skiing with the guys (and a couple gals). Maggie decided to try on some of his gear. She walked around in it for about an hour. TOO CUTE (and Funny!)!!!!
Bowling with KidVenture
Twice a year our church sponsors an event called KidVenture. This is an opportunity for elementary age kids to hang out with their small group (think part of a Sunday School class) and their small group leader on a day other than Sunday.
Saturday, February 2nd was BOWLING!
Mommy dropped Maggie off at the bowling alley in Roswell - this would be the same bowling alley that Mommy used to go to as a teenager. And I did say dropped her off - no parents allowed! The church actually took over the bowling alley for the day. An amazing amount of kids in kindergarten and first grade were there to have tons of fun - they did the rest of the kids later in the day.
Maggie had a great time with Mr. John and her small group friends. Most of the kids in her small group are friends from preschool. It is wonderful that she gets to connect with them every Sunday since she doesn't see them during the week anymore. They bowled, ate pizza, and just enjoyed hanging out with each other.
Mommy snuck back in a little early so she could get some pictures. They obviously were having an awesome day.
